27 Sep 2020 Flow divider testing and fixing Posted at 21:52h in Engines by Mickey 0 Comments 0 Likes I’ve got one cylinder that has low EGT at idle, and one possible cause is a clogged injector or low flow to the cylinder at idle. I checked the flow as recommended by Airflow Performance, and found that it was low on this cylinder. Took it all apart, and this “spool valve” and “diaphragm” was kind of stuck – no idea if this is good or bad, but after removing, and cleaning everything really well, it moved smoothly. I could not find any crud, dirt, or anything in there that could have reduced the flow. It could be that I removed it without realizing it. Same test after cleaning shows much more even flow into the cups, so this must be better. Let’s see after I get some decent weather to test it. Here’s what triggered me to look into this – you can see one cylinder has very low EGT at idle, but comes back during higher fuel flow, as shown here when I take off.
