Nice little device. I bought two, one for the passenger and one for me.
It does charge at the 2.1A (5v) level, and will keep an active ipad charged.
I accidentally pulled it apart when removing one of the 1/4″ faston connectors, so decided to take some pictures of the guts of the device.
Here it is installed up front. Note that I have both the USB ports and the “powerlet” port which I can use for other stuff that needs the full 12v and 10A. I tested the powerlet with the car charger for my macbook and it worked fine.
