Bolting on the roll bar, I find that one side has a bit of a gap, about 1/8 inch, as you can see from the photos below.
I wonder if I can just continue to drill the last three holes, and tighten down the bolts until it all becomes flat?
Is there a chance that this could somehow warp the fuselage longeron?
Van’s suggested putting a shim in there, which sounds reasonable, but if I can avoid a kludge like that I will be happier.
Update 23 July 2004:
I removed the roll bar, and put the flanges in a vise. Then I just bent them down. It was pretty easy, and the results are as shown in the photo below. No problemo!
