29 Dec 2005 Exhaust system sensor bungs
The exhaust system has connection points, called “bungs”, welded onto them for two sensors on the left, and one on the right. These bungs are for the air/fuel ratio sensor, and the exhaust gas temperature sensor.
I had my exhaust pipes coated with a ceramic material to reduce the amount of heat radiated under the cowl. I got this done at Jet Hot (jethot, jet-hot) coatings. More information here: Jet-Hot Ceramic Coating on Exhaust Pipes
This worked out really well, but I didn’t consider that the coating would cause a buildup in the threads on the “bungs”. Bummer. Now I need to find some taps to clean out these threads.
