01 Jan 2005 Sensors included with Eggenfellner Package
Update: 20210918 I ended up removing the Eggenfellner Subaru engine and replacing it with a Lycoming. Any post that references the Eggenfellner or the Subaru should be there only as an example of what not to do. Listen to the designer, and install the engine that that designer recommends – which for the RV-8 is a Lycoming IO-360.
1) What sensors are included on the H6 Engine with EIS option (can you give me a yes/no for the items below)
coolant temp Y
coolant level N -CONTACT GARY
engine oil temp Y
oil pressure Y
PRSU oil temp Y
volts Y
amps N
ECU fault Y
fuel pressure Y
fuel temp N
fuel flow Y
manifold pressure Y
Note: Bob Nuckolls says that while he used to recommend an Ammeter, he no longer does, since it does not provide you any information that will help you comfortably complete the flight. You should always know what the current use of your aircraft it under various configurations, so a simple voltmeter should be enough to tell you if there is a problem.
